Our global medical website Medthority (www.medthority.com) has over 500,000 pages of medical content, spanning 13 therapy areas and a global reach of more than 1.8 million healthcare professionals.

Medthority comprises a series of disease and condition specific ‘Learning Zones’ (45+ digital projects).

Learning Zones are self-directed sub-sites of Medthority, and are a mix of evidence-based text, interactive content, webinars, live-streamed/ recorded symposia, e-learning and enduring materials. Learning Zones are funded by the pharmaceutical industry (our customers).

EPG Health employs experts in scientific medical communications, digital engagement, data management, and pharmaceutical industry sector liaison.

YOU

We are searching for an experienced team member to join the Audience Communications and Membership Team.

Liaising with your editorial and other colleagues and using the latest digital marketing tools and processes, you will encourage Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to visit the Medthority site, become members and keep coming back – through the creation of compelling copy and outstanding adverts, social media posts.

With a deep understanding of science/medical copywriting, and of up to date digital marketing methods, you will have previous experience in pharma, healthcare, science marketing or publishing. You’ll be familiar with the needs and motivations of professionals like HCPs and be able to create compelling copy for emails, social posts, adverts etc that drive traffic, users, members and repeat visitors.

You are able to be part of a small team of committed communications professionals working with the wider business (paerticularly in editorial) and establishing yourself as the go-to person for all things social media and copywriting. You’ll ensure all work is delivered on budget and on time to the high standards expected both by EPG Health and our pharma clients.

You are able to communicate well with our editorial team, asking for clarification where needed, and helping develop clear channels of communication that lift our performance beyond the expected.

 

You understand that our HCP audience are educated, sophisticated and discerning and that only excellent and relevant communications, and suitably crafted messaging will help us grow as expected.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  • Work with department head to develop personas, messaging framework, and copy for individual Learning Zones, Specialty Hubs and other sections of the Medthority site. You’ll draft newsletters and adverts, be in control of our social channels and help the team to deliver the marketing campaign plans that will grow the Medthority brand and meet HCP acquisition and retention targets.
  • We need a hands on approach that takes the lead on messaging, social media and copywriting and executing the broader marketing strategy where required.
  • Lead cross functional teams to develop and manage the communications including bringing new ideas to the table and improving our digital presence.
  • Develop communications to promote, grow and enhance the Medthority brand, and work with the Head of Audience Communications and Membership plus other internal stakeholders to periodically review & refine communications and messaging strategy.
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure consistency and appropriateness of messaging for a global audience of highly educated HCPs at varying stages in their careers.
  • Work with the editorial team and others to deliver keyword research using sophisticated SEO tools.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience of working in a complex knowledge-based business with multiple messages and complex propositions. You’ll need a demonstrable track record in building a brand and delivering hard-hitting campaigns through effective copywritng across a broad range of media and channels.
  • Experience of working in a multiple stakeholder environment and an understanding of how to develop the campaign and brand communications messages accordingly.
  • Experience of drafting communications to HCPs or a similar, educated and professional audience.
  • Experience with a wide range of digital communications tools including Hootsuite.
  • Strong knowledge and self-sufficiency in the use of MS Office suite applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills. Able to work in cross-business and stakeholder teams: able to build a rapport with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Approachable and confident and with a can-do attitude.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a literate subject
  • 2/3 years’ experience in a publishing, pharma, educational, healthcare or scientific business and/or journalism qualifications and experience.
  • Proven writing skills with a broad vacabulary, excellent grammar and spelling and a talent for creating content that attracts and engages a highly educated audience. Attention to detail combined with creatvity is a must for this role.

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES

  • Prior experience in a busy communications role with tight deadlines and fast efficient approach
  • Familiarity/ experience with medical and healthcare language and with HCPs or equivalent
  • Practical experience in copywriting, communications or journalism
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
